Frequently asked questions.

Does my child need to be toilet trained?
No....we have adequate changing facilities and trained staff to support children with their needs.

What is the staff to child ratio?
We have one member of staff to every 4 children aged 2-3 years or one member of staff to every 8 children over 3 years.

What do I need to do to register my child for a place at Ravenshead Preschool Playgroup?
Please bring along your child's birth certificate when your child's starts at the Preschool Playgroup as this is a requirement for when your child qualifies for a funded place.

If my child has been unwell when can they return to Playgroup?
If your child has sickness, please keep them at home for 24 hours following vomitting, or 48 hours following vommiting and diarrhoea.  This is to minimise the risk of passing on the infection to other children or members of staff.

What happens if my child is unwell at Playgroup?
If our child is unwell during a Playgroup session and we feel that they need to be at home, we will contact you immediately. Please ensure your contact details are kept up to date.

What should I do if I would like to make a complaint?
If you wish to make a complaint please contact either:

Jenny Dearman, Preschool Manager
Diane Flint, Deputy Manager

Any member of staff
A committee member

All complaints will be logged and recorded and we will let you know of any actions we take as a result of your complaint.  If you feel we have not resolved your issue or that care standards are not being met, you can contact OFSTED on 0300 123 1231
